Steelmen Release Phillips

Lee Phillips has left Port Talbot Town Football Club after just 27 days and is expected to sign for former club Llanelli in the next week. Despite leaving Llanelli on principle after the Reds offered him a reduced contract, Phillips has now agreed to re-negotiate with the Welsh Premier League Champions.

I am very surprised and disappointed this has happened and find very strange and unprofessional that the two parties could not come to an agreement.

"Lee has informed us that he wishes to speak to Llanelli following their seven day notice of approach and for that reason we have released him from the club", said manager Nicky Tucker.

No player is bigger than the club and as Lee obviously hasn't got the commitment to play for Port Talbot Town he will not be returning to us."
