Bangor hit for Six by Great Danes

Bangor City have all been eliminated from the Uefa Cup Qualifying Round at the first hurdle, following a 6-1 home leg home defeat at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground against FC Midtjylland.

Wales Semi Pro International, Les Davies gave the Citizens hope when he equalised for the Welsh side following Gheorghe Mihai Florescu's early goal for the Danes.

But Winston Reid had restored the visitors' lead by the break, before the flood gates opened in the second half. Former Barnsley forward Kim Christensen scored a hat-trick in a 10-minute spell on his debut following his recent switch from Oakwell. Mikkel Thygesen had the final say adding a sixth goal for Midtjylland.

After their thumping in the home leg Nev Powell's side must now go to Midtjylland's SAS Arena in Herning, Denmark, on 31st July for the return, where they will at best hope to restore some pride against the crack Dane outfit, who have a 10million Euro budget.
