FA Cup Finalists bring strong squad to Carmarthen

Damon Searle should make his Old Gold debut against his former side.FA Cup Finalists Cardiff City will bring a very strong squad to Richmond Park on Saturday for a pre-season friendly match against Carmarthen Town.

As well as a batch of very established stars and some of City's exciting young talent, Manager Dave Jones will be at Richmond Park to cast his eye over his new signings.

Set to make their Cardiff City debuts on Saturday are former England U21 and Manchester United 'keeper Tom Heaton, whilst young Irishman Darren Dennehy who signed from Everton will also play his first game in Cardiff colours. There will also be a debut appearance for ex-Rangers, Motherwell and Scottish International Ross McCormack as well as Dutch full-back Miguel Comminges. who joined from Swindon Town in the close season.

Cardiff's very latest signing, the former Irish International and Crystal Palace midfielder Mark Kennedy who became the most expensive teenager in British football history when he moved from Millwall to Liverpool in March 1995 for a fee of up to £2.3m is also in the City line-up.

Other Internationals on show are Kevin McNaughton (Scotland), Stephen McPhail (Ireland), Gavin Rae (Scotland), Peter Whittingham (England U.21), Paul Parry (Wales), whilst young full-back Adam Matthews is very highly rated at the club and by Wales Youth Manager Brian Flynn.

Former Cardiff City favourite Damon Searle (pictured) should make his debut for the club, whilst Mark Dodds should also don the Old Gold again after his switch back from Newport County. The match kicks-off at 2.00 pm.
