Rhys Griffiths's Picture

Rhys Griffiths

Rhys joined Llanelli in the 2006 close season after Welsh Premier experience with Cwmbran Town, Carmarthen Town, Haverfordwest County and Port Talbot Town. He enjoyed a prolific season in 2005/6 with 28 league goals to win the Welsh Premier's Golden Boot award and Player of the Year Award whilst at Port Talbot and he was again the Golden Boot in his first season at Stebonheath with an outstanding 39 goals.

He scored his first Reds' hat-trick in the memorable 6-0 defeat of League Leaders Rhyl in September 2006 at Stebonheath and can also boast a European Hat-Trick as he scored three against Vetra in the Intertoto Cup in 2007 at Carmarthen's Richmond Park.

He deservedly won a call-up to the Wales Semi Pro side for the 2007 Tournament in Inverness and played against England, Ireland and Scotland, bagging the winning goal against the Scots from the penalty spot.

The Fireman's predatory instinct in front of goal will again ensure a steady flow of goals at Stebonheath this year.
